Lonesome Dove Ranch
Welcome to the Lonesome Dove Ranch, owned and operated by Ross and Tara Davidson, and their family Ash, Cameron, Jaime and Flynn. We are headquartered in southwest Saskatchewan, near Ponteix, where we run a large purebred and commercial Gelbvieh cow-calf ranch. We produce purebred red and black Gelbvieh breeding bulls and females. We also maintain a large commercial herd, providing feeder steers and commercial replacement heifers to many long-time customers.
Our Drive
We genuinely enjoy raising cattle and stewarding the land and water that is in our care. The Gelbvieh breed is rooted in maternal strength, and our goal is to produce cattle that are productive, efficient, fertile, and will thrive in our environment and beyond. Our herd is built on a solid foundation of bulls and females that feature proper foot structure, good udders, and demonstrate longevity.
